First, the Red Lion on Northgate Street is a popular student pub and usually has a range of offers on drinks, and you’ll get 20% off with your NUS card. What’s more, if you sign up for the venue’s newsletter, you’ll get a free drink when you buy a meal there.
Other pubs and venues might need you to sign up with an “ac.uk” email address to access their offers as part of the Uni Crew network of “secret” offers. The stylish Music Hall Tap, which is close to the cathedral, is one such example. If you want to move onto a club later, many in Chester host student nights during the week, usually with cheaper than normal entry and drinks. Both Off the Wall on St John Street and Rosies on Northgate Street also have mailing lists for offers, with an academic address again being required.
