Hoole Area Guide

Guide to Hoole

Hoole is a suburb on the north eastern outskirts of Chester, and home to over 4,200 residents. Nicknamed ‘Notting Hoole’, it is characterised by its community businesses and independent bohemian spirit. It is home to many terraced properties with old fashioned Victorian and Edwardian charm as well as an award-winning shopping district. Although it is only a short walk from the city centre, Hoole has always offered more of a relaxed village feel, with several trendy options for retail, food and drink.

Best streets to live

As a residential area, Hoole is home to many students and other house sharers. The best-known student accommodation can be found on Brook Street, Ermine Road, St Anne Street and Black Diamond Street.
