Chester pub reopens following refurbishment

The Mount Inn, a popular Chester pub, has reopened after owner Hydes Brewery gave it an extensive interior and exterior refurbishment.

With summer 2024 being packed with big sporting events, Hydes have equipped The Mount Inn accordingly with modern televisions, featuring an 80” screen. The toilets have been moved, enabling an extra 30 or so people to be inside. The interior has also been equipped with new furniture and redecorated.

On the outside, the front side of the pub’s has been refreshed to increase its kerb appeal. The number of outside seats has also been more than doubled, thanks to a new terrace and decking being installed to give a new multi-level beer garden where people can enjoy a view of the River Dee.

James Gornall has been managing the pub for some 16 months and said he loves working there, adding:

“I love it even more now that Hydes delivered such a high quality refurbishment that has truly revitalised it. Many of the regular customers have been looking forward to the refurb and they’re over the moon with the new look and feel.”

He also said that a packed schedule of pub entertainment and live music will be forthcoming, such as summer barbecues and music performed live each Saturday. The return of The Mount Inn adds to the many pubs in Chester you can frequent this summer to watch sport when you have student accommodation in Hoole or the city centre, which can often be found without needing to pay upfront deposits or fees.
